Dr. Grumpertz will discuss practices for recruiting and hiring, programs and resources for recruiting faculty when the pool of candidates is small, issues that affect job satisfaction and retention of faculty of color and women in disciplines where they are traditionally under-represented, and tools for ensuring that tenure and promotion evaluations are free of bias. These programs, approaches and tools have been developed within the last few years at universities around the country seeking to create a diverse faculty body.
